Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 14, 2026 • Effective Date: October 14, 2026

Welcome to updatekno.id ("we", "our", "us", or "the Service"). We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy, personal information, and digital files. This Privacy Policy outlines how your data is handled when you visit and use our website at https://updatekno.id and all associated browser-based productivity tools.

By accessing or using our website, you signify your acceptance of the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described herein, please refrain from using our services.

1. Core Architecture: Zero-Server-Upload (Client-Side Computing)

The fundamental architectural pillar of updatekno.id is that your files, documents, and data never leave your device.

  • Local In-Browser Processing: The vast majority of our tools (including PDF merger/compressor, image croppers/converters, text diffs, and developer utilities) execute entirely within your client web browser using modern WebAssembly (Wasm), HTML5 Canvas, and client-side JavaScript APIs.
  • Zero Remote Server Uploads: When you select or drag-and-drop a file into any tool, the file data is loaded into your local computer or smartphone memory (RAM). The file is never transmitted, uploaded, or mirrored to our web hosting servers or any remote cloud storage.
  • Absolute Confidentiality: Because we never receive your files, we have no copies, backups, logs, or physical ability to view your sensitive documents, financial forms, identity cards, or private photos. Once you close or refresh your browser tab, all temporary data in your device memory is completely discarded.

2. Information We Collect

As a public web utility, we do not require account creation, logins, or payment details. We only collect the bare minimum technical data necessary for site reliability, security, and performance:

A. Automatically Collected Technical Log Data

Like most websites, our web hosting servers automatically record standard HTTP server access logs when you navigate through pages. This data may include:

  • Anonymized Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • Browser type, language settings, and operating system;
  • Referring and exit URLs, timestamp (date and time of access);
  • Pages requested and diagnostic performance metrics.

This information is used strictly to analyze aggregate web traffic, diagnose server faults, and prevent malicious DDoS or bot attacks. It is never linked to any personally identifiable information.

B. Voluntary Inquiries and Correspondence

If you contact us via our contact form or official email address ([email protected]), we will receive your name, email address, subject, and message content. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry, investigate reported bugs, or provide user support.

3. Cookies and Local Storage Technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your browser. We and our trusted partners use cookies and browser local storage to improve user experience:

  • Functional Local Storage: We use your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (Dark Mode or Light Mode). This preference stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
  • Analytical Cookies: We may use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate website usage patterns, page visit counts, and device categories. This data helps us optimize platform performance.
  • Managing Cookies: You can choose to accept, reject, or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect certain visual preferences.

4. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures

To provide free access to all tools without subscription fees, we display advertisements served by third-party advertising partners, notably Google AdSense.

Important Google AdSense Disclosures Required by Google Policies:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites on the Internet.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its advertising partners to serve personalized ads to our users based on their visits to updatekno.id and/or other sites across the World Wide Web.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting the Google Ads Settings page.
  • Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or Your Online Choices (for European users).

For more detailed information on how Google manages data in its advertising products, please review the Google Advertising Privacy & Terms.

5. European Privacy Rights (GDPR & UK GDPR Compliance)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are entitled to specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • The Right to Access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether we process any personal data relating to you and to obtain a copy.
  • The Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • The Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request deletion of your personal communications or email correspondence.
  • The Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: You have the right to object to or request restrictions on the processing of your data.
  • The Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • The Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We respond to all verified requests within 30 days.

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA Disclosures)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific statutory rights regarding their personal information:

  • Right to Know: You may request information regarding the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information collected directly from you.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against you (in service quality or pricing) for exercising your statutory privacy rights.
  • Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell, rent, release, disclose, or transfer consumer personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Notice)

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to us. Our website and productivity tools are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our records.

8. Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) & External Libraries

To provide high-speed page loading across all regions, we load standard open-source libraries (such as Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, PDF-Lib, and Cropper.js) via established Content Delivery Networks (e.g., jsDelivr, Cloudflare). These CDNs only serve static code files and never inspect or process user files.

9. Data Security Measures

We employ industry-standard security practices across our platform. All data transmitted between your browser and our website is protected by 256-bit Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / SSL encryption) to prevent eavesdropping and Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) tampering.

10. Policy Updates

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical enhancements, new tool rollouts, or evolving legal frameworks. When revisions are published, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be amended accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
